The Invisible Work: Bringing Art to Life

I’m writing this post while in the middle of building my website, and it’s funny how taking these small pauses to write helps me realize things I wouldn’t notice otherwise. I imagined being an artist would be all about creating, but here I am, balancing tasks that go beyond just making art—such as web development, UI/UX design, curating images and videos to document my creative process, content writing, as well as SEO, digital marketing, and e-commerce strategy.

What surprises me the most is how much the process of making art involves so many other things we don’t think about. It’s all these tasks that happen between the beginning and the end—the planning, organizing, adapting. And the more I study how this journey works, the more I see that creating art is just a small part of a much bigger whole.

We often don’t value these “in-between” stages and take them for granted, as if they’re just a formality. But this is where the real work happens—the work that makes art visible and brings it into the world. It’s in these moments, in these tasks, that art takes its shape, form, and purpose beyond the studio or canvas.

It’s interesting how, as I get deeper into all of this, my perception of what it means to be an artist expands. It’s not just about creating—it’s about making that creation known, accessible, and impactful.
